THIS BIKE IS PRETTY MUCH A STOCKER…ALTHOUGH THERE HAS BEEN MODIFICATIONS DONE TO THE BIKE BECAUSE “STRICLY STOCK” IS NOT OUR CALLING CARD
WE STARTED WITH A ’79 STANDARD THAT WAS IN FAIRLY DECENT SHAPE AND ADDED A FEW UPGRADES TO THE OVERALL DESIGN.
THE ORIGINAL MAG WHEELS WERE DITCHED IN FAVOR OF A SET OF POLISHED ALUMINUM AKRONT SHOULDERED SPOKE WHEELS FITTED WITH DUNLOP RUBBER FRONT & REAR
THE TROUBLESOME STOCK WIRING WAS REPLACED WITH A HAND MADE SIMPLIFIED WIRING CONFIGURATION
THE ORIGINAL POINTS SYSTEM WAS REPLACED WITH A PAMCO ELECTRONIC IGNITION SYSTEM AND A NEW SOLID STATE REGULATOR/RECTIFIER WAS ALSO UTILIZED TO REPLACE THE SEPARATE UNITS ON THE BIKE THE IGNITION SYSTEM ALSO HAS A NEW HIGH OUTPUT COIL WITH SILICONE LEAD WIRES AND NGK PLUG CAPS
THE BIKE HAS NEW TAPERED STEERING BEARINGS AND NEW BRONZE SWING ARM BUSHINGS INSTALLED
A 1974 TANK WAS USED TO ACCOMODATE THE NEEDED TWIN PETCOCKS TO FEED THE RE-BUILT MIKUNI BS38 CARBS
STOCK CHROME HEADPIPES & N.O.S. MAC UPSWEPT MUFFLERS WERE INSTALLED
NEW BRAKE SHOES & PADS WERE INSTALLED
A MODIFIED SPORSTER HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS USED FOR ILLUMINATION UP FRONT AND THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY IS AN NOS UNIT FROM THE MID ‘70’S
THE FRONT & REAR FENDERS HAVE BEEN POWDER COATED TO MATCH THE PAINTED FRAME & SWING ARM
A 1974 SEAT WAS INSTALLED AS WELL
