- BLAXS -
This one is based on a 1971 Yamaha 650.
The bike has a 1979 motor in it though because this donor bike came to me as a roller without an engine.
I upgraded the '79 motor with a PAMCO electronic ignition system & a high out put coil.
The stock Mikuni BS34 carbs were re-built & re-jetted.
The side cases were drilled & powder coated semi-gloss black.
The tappet covers as well as the points covers were powder coated metallic gun metal gray.
The Frame, front end & the wheels are from a Yamaha XS-1 and they too were powder coated semi-gloss black.
I installed a custom under braced swing arm from Wise Guys Customs.
The shocks are after-market early BSA style units with enclosed springs.
I like the look of it on the bike, and the contrast works well.
The tank on this bike is a 1961 Ducatti 250 tank.
I found it at a cycle salvage we have here in Washington called Bent Bike.
I just really liked the shape of the tank so I decided to use it on this build.
I used a Lucas style tail light rubber mounted to the rear fender.
Some other little interesting things about this particular bike are the handle bars, and the head light assembly.
They were culled from a 1961 SEARS ALLSTATE, which were made by PUCH out of Germany way back when.
I used a LePera solo seat with raised piping on this bike.
I again used my chain wheel instrument housings on this build as well as one of my “Surfer Foot” brake pedals
